BASIC FUNCTION: The Administrator of St. Paul’s Plaza has 24/7 overall responsibility for the management and operation of a community offering residential, general assisted living services and a secured memory care program. Position operates under general supervision and regularly and customarily exercises discretion and independent judgment. Oversees the activities of all Plaza departments, in conjunction with our COO.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Operates facility in accordance with all St. Paul’s policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.
-Interprets all federal, state and local regulations for facility staff.
-Establishes systems and standards to ensure compliance.
-Ensures successful meeting and completing all licensure surveys.
-Prepares, implements and enforces policies regarding duties and activities of staff.
-Ensures the generation of job descriptions and job standards for all facility positions.
-Assists with the recruitment, employment, work scheduling, performance evaluation, promotion and discharge of all staff.
-Ensures adequate staffing levels for all departments.
-Coordinates facility in-service education programs with the Education Department and Human -Resources, records and reports the same.
-Responsible for developing and implementing strategies for the recruitment and retention of quality staff and making St. Paul’s Plaza, “the best place for the best employees to work.”
-Coordinates the operation of facility in concert with all other St. Paul’s services and facilities.
-Recommends annual budget, occupancy goals and pricing.
-Responsible for operating within established budgeting guidelines, monitoring financial reports, and implementing plans of correction, if needed.
-Ensures adequate revenue by facilitating admissions and maintaining occupancy meeting both service and financial goals.
-Responsible for meeting Census budget goals.
-Remains current with “state of the art” information and data about senior programs, research, trends, and other pertinent information necessary to develop and maintain quality services.
-Ensures multiple departments coordinate to provide seamless, coordinated services to address the needs and interests of Residents and families.
-Periodically surveys residents’ and families’ needs, interests, and satisfaction through meetings, focus groups, and formal survey instruments.
-Develops admission criteria, scope of service and staff practices, in coordination with corporate policies, and maintains methods to determine Resident needs, activities, and discharge criteria.
-Responsible for meeting or exceeding budget and census expectations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a current California RCFE license. Must have knowledge of, and the ability to comply with, all applicable laws and regulations. Must have strong organizational skills. Must be able to develop policies and procedures, and supervise a diverse staff. Must be neat, with good grooming habits, and courteous. Must have strong communications skills and be able to communicate with, be interested in, and have compassion for the elderly. Must be able to communicate in English, both verbal and written. Must be computer literate.
Bilingual in Spanish is desired.
Must possess a valid California Drivers License, Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Must have Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Senior Care, Health Care Administration or related field, and two (2) years as a facility administrator with a minimum of 5 years total in senior residential care. Master degree preferred. RCFE license required and LNHA license preferred.
