The Right Choice for Your Loved One
It’s difficult to care for your aging loved one 24/7, especially if he or she struggles with an intensive medical condition such as memory impairment. Leaving loved ones alone for long stretches of the day can put them in danger and can lead to increased loneliness. Many seniors and their families are not ready to make the jump to assisted living. At St. Paul’s, we have a solution. Our Senior Day program is an ideal choice if you want to keep your loved one living at home longer. We provide a caring community focused on your loved one’s social, cognitive, and physical needs.
Most of our individual Senior Day care takes place at our comfortable Senior Day center. We offer a variety of activities including group discussions, planned outings, exercise, and mental stimulation. We also bring seniors together with children from our Child Care Program a few times each day, further fostering a healthy outlook on life. For high-quality San Diego senior care, there is no better choice.
For caregivers, we offer affordable and flexible respite services including monthly support group meetings at St. Paul’s Villa.

Intergenerational Care Programs in San Diego
The Benefit of Child Interaction
As a core component of our senior care, our community at St. Paul’s is proud to offer one of the first intergenerational day care programs in Southern California. Intergenerational care brings together children and seniors to benefit the lives of both parties through structured activity. Children from the Child Care Program come together with the seniors in the Senior Day Program for creative activities like reading, sing-alongs, arts and crafts, dancing, and other learning opportunities. These interactions are typically scheduled twice a day and once at lunch to allow for as much interaction as possible.
Why? Studies have shown that structured intergenerational interaction is mutually beneficial for seniors and children alike. These interactions make it possible to:
Improve intergenerational understanding
Re-visit memories through “grandparent” type interaction
Share new learning skills and accomplishments
Provide mentoring if desired
Enhance quality of life through laughter, learning and fun
Erase stigmas and common misconceptions
Share lunch to learn from each other in a less structured setting
