Senior Day Participant of the Month: May 2016

ThomasThomas was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He attended Baylor University and received his Bachelor’s Degree in History and Education. He continued on in his education, obtaining a Master’s Degree from the University of Houston in History and Government. Thomas is very proud to have been the first person in his family to go to college. He then began his very successful career in education in Houston, working as an elementary school teacher, then a curriculum supervisor, and even becoming a principal. Thomas worked his way all the way up to become the Director of Teacher Corp in Houston. Thomas was awarded the Teacher of the Year Award in the Houston School District in 1965. After retiring, Thomas enjoyed living in many different places, including Atlanta, GA, Charlottesville, VA, St. Petersburg, FL, and of course San Diego, CA. Thomas still enjoys reading, especially mysteries, history, and theology. Thomas also loves walking and attending plays at the Old Globe Theater in Balboa Park. Thomas did not marry nor have children. He was very dedicated to his work in education and he has a great love for kids, especially mentoring them and watching them grow up to be successful! Thomas loves St. Paul’s Intergenerational Program for allowing him to continue to work with kids and share his incredible life story with others.
