Volunteer Opportunities

Do you want to make a difference in the lives of others? Do you want to make a positive impact on the world around you? If so, you're just the person we're looking for.

We're looking for people who have a smile to share and are enthusiastic about helping others. We need volunteers to share their time, care and compassion with our senior residents, patients, and visitors at St. Paul's Senior Homes & Services.

St. Paul's invites you to become one of the many volunteers across the nation who are responding to President Bush's message to "Heal The World - Be A Volunteer." Volunteering has a lot to offer people from all manner and walks of life. People can volunteer for many reasons. They may choose to volunteer because they want to:

Dog
Jasmine - Our Therapy Volunteer!
  • do something they really enjoy;
  • make use of their special interests and talents;
  • learn new skills and develop new interests and talents;
  • meet new people with similar interests;
  • find out about a job or type of work which they are considering as a career;
  • give something back to their community.

Volunteers are very special people - and the volunteers at St. Paul's are no exception -- they are here because they want to be. Volunteer time can be spent in many different ways with the seniors or the children in our day care program. You can help directly with activities, games, crafts, music, visiting, driving, reading or going for a walk. Alternatively you can help them indirectly in an office type environment by answering phones, filing or making appointments. We believe there is no position at St. Paul's that can't be supported by a volunteer.

The only requirements to become a volunteer are that you must be at least 18 years old and be able to commit to a regular amount of time (anywhere from 1 hour a week to 5 days a week) for at least 6 months. All volunteers have to be fingerprinted and each year receive a negative TB test.

To find out more about the volunteering opportunities at St. Paul's, please call our Volunteer Coordinator at (619) 239-6900.
