Volunteer Appreciation Picnic

St. Paul’s Senior Homes & Services – Volunteer Appreciation “Safari Party” Picnic
Allison and Elliot brought their dog Riley, a regular (and very popular) volunteer at St. Paul’s Villa.
Juliane and Nishant were the proud winners of the very challenging
Balloon Tossing Contest.

On April 21st, a perfectly sunny day with a bright blue sky overhead, St. Paul’s was pleased to host a Volunteer Appreciation Picnic at the Children’s Park. This year’s theme was a “Safari Party” and over 40 volunteers and guests arrived for some fun in the sun. There were plenty of opportunities to win gift baskets full of fun items, as well as a very entertaining water balloon tossing contest, and a hilarious round of musical chairs. Who knew our volunteers were so competitive?! Guests also enjoyed a delicious American barbeque with burgers, baked beans and corn on the cob.

Longtime St. Paul’s volunteer Allison Andrews said, “I attended the picnic with my dog, Riley, and my fiancé.  My favorite part was getting to meet like-minded volunteers and hearing about their volunteering, and sharing stories about the seniors at St. Paul’s and how they’ve touched our lives.”

This is Volunteer Coordinator Stewart Gaddy’s 7th year of planning this annual picnic. “We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day for this occasion to thank our volunteers for everything they do for St. Paul’s. Their involvement is so important to our residents and participants!”
